Early College Credit - Start College Now

1. Talk with your high school counselor to see if it's a good fit for you. They will consider how the class aligns with academic plans and whether you meet the pre-requisite for taking a college level class. Ask when, and to whom, the materials must be submitted to at your high school. This link provides the common Early College Credit Program courses at UW-River Falls.
2. Request information from the institution of higher education where you'd like to take classes.
3. Obtain an ECCP participation form from your high school counselor or download it from the links below.
   • University of Wisconsin System Application
   • Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) Application
   • Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa College (LCOOC) Application
   • College of Menominee Nation (CMN) Application
   • Maranatha Baptist University Application (private university, not a WAICU member)
   • Ottawa University Application
4. Submit your completed form to your school officials by the February 1 for summer, March 1 for fall courses, and October 1 for spring courses.
5. Applications are submitted to the Hudson Board of Education for review. Following the Board's review, you will receive a letter from the High School.
6. If approved, follow the application or registration requirements at the campus or program you'd like to take classes with. This link proved the UW-River Falls Early College Credit Program Process. Talk with Ms. Huber if you are planning to attend a different UW school. 
7. Make sure to submit any required documentation, e.g., high school transcripts along with any prerequisite documentation (AP scores).
8. Once admitted, you will receive an email to complete the next steps. This will include information on how to register for courses.
9. Enroll in your class.
10. Important! Students must let their HHS school counselor know which courses they have registered for and adjust their HHS school schedule as needed.
11. At the end of semester, submit a transcript of your completed courses to your HHS school counselor. Grades are recorded on both your college and High School transcripts. 

Student/Parent Specific Responsibilities

1. Complete 10th grade and be in good academic standing.
2. Complete the Northwood Technical College application or the Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) application and turn it into the Hudson High School Counseling Office by the deadline (October 1st for spring semester, March 1st for fall semester).

3. Applications will be submitted to the Hudson Board of Education for review. Following the Board's review, you will receive a letter from the High School.
4. If approved, the technical college you applied to will send an invitation with registration instructions.
5. For Northwood Technical College, you will be contacted to arrange a meeting with the Admissions Advisor to begin the registration process.
6. Important! Students must let their school counselor know which courses they are registered for and adjust their Hudson High School schedule, if needed.
7. At the end of the semester, the student will provide the High School counselor with a transcript of courses completed. Grades are recorded on both your college and Hudson High School transcripts. 

1. Admit students to the technical college if they meet the requirements; prerequisites of the course or courses and if there is space available in the course for which a student has applied. 
2. Collaborate with Hudson High School at least 30 days before the beginning of the technical college semester in which the student will be enrolled. Notify the student, in writing, if a course is comparable to a course offered at Hudson High School. 
3. Ensure the student's educational program meets Hudson High School's graduation requirements.
