Early College Credit - Start College Now
Early College Credit Program
The Early College Credit Program (ECCP) statute requires Wisconsin public, charter, and private high schools to provide a minimum of 18 credits of college courses at a UW, private, or Tribal college located in Wisconsin (for high school and college credit or college credit only) to students in grades 9-12.
Important Notes Regarding Early College Credit
- Transportation to and or from the college is the student's responsibility. Mileage reimbursement is income dependent. See your counselor for more information.
- Drop deadlines are the student's responsibility. Please take careful note of those deadlines! Failing a course or dropping a course after the deadline could result in student or parent financial responsibility for the course tuition.
- If a desired course overlaps with required courses at Hudson High School, or does not work well with the school schedule, your schedule at Hudson High School will take priority. Students must maintain a full credit load between Early College Credit and Hudson High School credits (3-3.5 credits on the High School scale). Hudson High School tries to be as flexible as possible, however, sometimes roadblocks can arise!
- You must complete a new application for each semester you would like to attend.
Start College Now
Start College Now allows high school students the opportunity to take college courses at Wisconsin Technical Colleges. Statute 38.12(14) lays out all aspects of the program.
